Publishing guidelines
How marketplace review works and the quality, listing, content and selling rules we review against.
Every plugin and skill in the marketplace is reviewed by a person before it goes live. These are the rules we review against. Following them is the fastest way through review.
#How review works
Submit
Publish from your account page on the website. The upload is checked straight away for format errors, and the listing appears under Your listings as In review.
Review
We install it, apply it to test recordings, and read the listing. This takes 3–5 business days.
Decision
The listing goes Live, or comes back as Not approved with a note saying what to change. Fix it and submit a new version.
Track it
Your account page shows installs, likes and, for paid listings, sales for each listing.
#Quality
- It does what the name and description say, on a normal screen recording, with no extra setup you haven’t described.
- It works at the start, middle and end of a timeline, and in landscape and portrait.
- Text is spelled correctly and placeholder captions are obvious, like “Name · Role”.
- Colors keep text readable: aim for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 between text and background.
- Undo, or switching the skill off, returns the timeline to exactly how it was.
#Listing
- Name what it adds or does. No version numbers, emoji, “Pro”, “Ultimate” or other people’s brand names.
- Description is one plain sentence. Say what it needs, like markers or a camera track, in the full description.
- Category and icon match what it does. Pick the closest one; reviewers may change them.
- Version goes up with every change. People keep the version they installed until they choose Update.
- Open source listings link to the full source and use a recognised license, such as MIT or Apache-2.0.
#Content
- Use only text, fonts and assets you made or have the rights to distribute.
- Don’t copy another creator’s plugin or recipe and publish it as yours. Small changes to an existing listing are not a new listing.
- No hateful, sexual, violent or misleading content, in the listing or in captions the plugin adds.
- Don’t imitate Swamp Dragon or another company, and don’t use “official” in a name.
#Selling
Listings can be free or cost between US$1 and US$499. You can sell on any plan.
Swamp Dragon is the merchant of record and collects all payments for every plugin and skill at Swamp Dragon’s checkout.
- Sellers may not integrate or link any payment gateway, checkout, donation or payment link, or take payment outside Swamp Dragon for a market listing.
- The creator share is 80% of the net sale price. Net earnings are the sale price minus the platform’s share, refunds and chargebacks in that period.
- Payouts are calculated per calendar month and transferred at the end of every month to the payout account the seller provided. Processing completes within the first few business days after month end. The minimum payout is US$25; smaller balances roll over to the next month.
- Refunds and chargebacks are deducted from the next payout. Swamp Dragon may hold payouts for suspected fraud or a breach of the guidelines.
- Sellers must provide accurate payout and identity details and keep them up to date. Swamp Dragon is not responsible for transfers to incorrect details supplied by a seller.
- Swamp Dragon collects and remits sales tax or VAT where required. Sellers are responsible for their own income taxes.
Choose a supported payout method during submission. After approval we send a secure link for bank details; never send bank details by email. Payout questions: payouts@swampdragon.space.
#Removal
We remove listings that break these guidelines or the terms of service, stop working after an app update, or are reported and confirmed as copied. The reason appears as a note on the listing in your account, and you can fix it and submit again. Repeated or deliberate breaches can close your publishing account.
